Job summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Manager to join our GP Practice located in the UK. As the Business Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and financial success of the practice, while also collaborating with primary care networks (PCN) to achieve the Directed Enhanced Services (DES) and network agreements. Additionally, your expertise in the Care Quality Commission (CQC) guidelines and experience in supporting clinical partners will be essential in navigating the challenges and delivering on the Fuller report.
Responsibilities:
1. Financial Management: Take charge of the practice's financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Utilize your skills in finance and business analytics to maximize income for the practice, identify opportunities for revenue growth, and implement effective strategies to achieve financial targets.
2. Collaboration with Primary Care Networks (PCN): Work closely with PCNs to develop and maintain strong relationships, ensuring effective communication and alignment with the DES and network agreements.

This includes the delivery of high-quality patient care services, maximising profitability and maintaining a pleasant and rewarding working environment.
*To have delegated responsibility for the overall management of the Practice, remaining accountable to the Partnership through regular reporting, thus enabling the Partners to focus on clinical care.
To balance the need for overall strategic leadership with the requirement to ensure that day-to-day operational issues are dealt with quickly and effectively. This to be achieved by appropriately delegating responsibility to the Office Manager and other members of staff, whilst retaining overall accountability.
Be responsible for the management of the non-clinical work of clinical and non-clinical staff to ensure the high quality of reception, administration, finance, secretarial and clinical services across the Practice.
To be the senior, non-clinical figure within the Practice leading on practice strategy and business and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and high quality management practices in conjunction with the Partners.
To represent the practice and Partners at all PCN meetings and ensure the practice fully engages with the DES and maximises the income available through all income streams.
Ensure that the Practice delivers the highest possible quality of care to its registered population
Responsibility for the financial management of the Practice, including setting and performance management against budgeting plans and cash flow and then reporting to the Partners on a regular basis.
Ensure that income via the NHS is up-to-date, appropriate and in line with submissions.
Understand and report on the financial implications of contractual and legislation change.
Establish and maintain systems to maximise income, identify.

Organise and periodically review the need for cover and value for money of GP locum cover
Reconcile income from the NHS against Practice records; analyse information and address all financial inconsistencies.

Ensure that Partners monthly drawings are calculated as per an annual agreement with Partners and are paid in line with the Partnership Agreement
