Job summary
We are seeking an Apprentice Pre-Registration Pharmacy Technician
to improve the quality and safety of care delivered to patients across its
practices and in partnership organisations.
This is a new and exciting opportunity to be a part of an
expanding and diverse Primary Care Network team. You will work across pharmacy
services delivered by the organisations/settings of the partnership, improving
patient care and all whilst developing your knowledge and skills and behaviours
required to become a registered Pharmacy Technician with the General
Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
Main duties of the job
You will undertake a formal professional qualification whilst
learning on the job. This is a 2 year fixed term contract, full time (37.5
hours per week) or part time (30 hours per week). Minimum wage.
To be considered, you must hold a minimum of four GCSE's at
Grade C or above (or equivalent qualification) in English, Mathematics and
Science subjects.
As part of the selection process, candidates shortlisted for
interview may be required to sit a functional skills assessment in numeracy and
literacy.
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, the candidate
will be a qualified Pharmacy Technician, and will be able to register with the
General Pharmaceutical Council.

To acquire the required academic standard,
underpinning knowledge and technical skills to complete the Pre-Registration
Trainee Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship.
Develop a portfolio of evidence as required.
Work closely with team members to achieve
workplace assessments.
To undertake, with supervision, all types of
medicines management and dispensary based pharmacy work across the placements
appropriate to the level of knowledge and experience, in order to deliver
services to patients.
Within own work area, assist and support the
provision of flexible, efficient integrated pharmacy care and medicines
optimisation services.
To rotate through pharmacy services delivered
by the organisations of the partnership.
To successfully complete the Level 3 Diploma
in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians to enable registration
with the GPhC. This is an integrated competency and knowledge-based
qualification to be delivered both by formal education & training via the
Education Provider and in the workplace. The post holders progress will be
monitored and supported by an Educational Supervisor.
To undertake, on a rotational basis, a wide
range of duties which includes dispensing, medicines supply, procurement and
stock control, medicines management, medicines optimisation and GP practice/PCN
activities.
To undertake, on a rotational basis, a range
of smaller taster placements deemed appropriate to provide exposure and
experience relevant to pharmacy practice e.g. care homes, pharmacy production
etc.
All duties carried out by the Integrated
Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician will be under direct supervision
and operating within Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
This is a training post and therefore carries
no responsibility for: managing other staff, budget holding in any capacity, management/maintenance
of any physical resources.
