Job summary
The Paramedic Practitioner Triage Lead will be responsible for managing and delivering the daily triage function within the practice. This includes assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with a range of acute and chronic conditions, ensuring patients are directed to the most appropriate care in a timely manner. The role will also involve service leadership, clinical supervision, and development of triage protocols in line with best practice and local pathways.
Main duties of the job
- Lead and coordinate the daily clinical triage process, ensuring urgent and routine requests are prioritised appropriately.
- Provide telephone and face-to-face consultations, home visits (where required), and urgent clinical assessments.
- Support the GP team in managing on-the-day demand, streaming patients to the most appropriate clinician or service.
- Act as a clinical lead for triage protocols and contribute to the development of practice systems to improve patient flow.
- Mentor and support other clinicians in triage processes.
