Job summary
Liverpool First Primary Care Network (PCN) is looking to employ two newly qualified general medical practitioners (GP) to work across its 10 practices. Specifically, Liverpool First PCN is looking to appoint one full-time newly qualified GP and one part-time newly qualified GP, or two part-time newly qualified GPs. Full-time GPs will be expected to work eight sessions per week and part-time GPs will be expected to work pro-rata of this.
FTE weekly GP rota
Mon - session one: 9am/10am-1pm/2pm (4 hours) ; session two: 1.30pm/2.30pm-5.30pm/6.30pm (4 hours)
Tue - session one: 9am/10am-1pm/2pm (4 hours) ; session two: 1.30pm/2.30pm-5.30pm/6.30pm (4 hours)
Wed - session one: 9am/10am-1pm/2pm (4 hours) ; session two: 1.30pm/2.30pm-5.30pm/6.30pm (4 hours)
Thu - session one: 9am/10am-1pm/2pm (4 hours) ; session two: 1.30pm/2.30pm-5.30pm/6.30pm (4 hours)
Fri - appraisal / revalidation / study time: 9am-2.30pm (5.5 hours)
Weekly GP rota where two GPs are employed on a part-time basis (26 hours per week each)
Mon - non-working day
Tue - session one: 9am/10am-1pm/2pm (4 hours) ; session two: 1.30pm/2.30pm-5.30pm/6.30pm (4 hours)
Wed - session one: 9am/10am-1pm/2pm (4 hours) ; session two: 1.30pm/2.30pm-5.30pm/6.30pm (4 hours)
Thu - session one: 9am/10am-1pm/2pm (4 hours) ; session two: 1.30pm/2.30pm-5.30pm/6.30pm (4 hours)
Fri - appraisal / revalidation / study time: 9am-11am (2 hours)
Main duties of the job
Responsibilities
- To diagnose and treat patients of all patients for a range of conditions.
- To refer patients on for specialist support where appropriate.
- To sign repeat prescriptions and issue medicines in accordance with NHS guidelines.
- To complete administrative work, ranging from completing fitness for work statements to death certificates.
- To work as part of a multidisciplinary team at PCN and practice level.
- To conduct home visits where required.
- Health promotion, disease prevention and treatment.
- To conduct clinical examinations.
- To conduct tests for diagnoses purposes.
- To monitor patients health and wellbeing.
- To manage safeguarding issues as per practices policies.
- To provide clinical leadership at PCN and practice level in accordance with LFPCNs clinical director.
- To take a patient-centred approach to reducing health inequalities.
