Job summary
We are looking for a salaried GP to join us for 4-6 sessions. The working days are on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Position available as soon as you can start.
Main duties of the job
a. The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
b. The provision of services commensurate with the PMS contract
c. Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
d. Effective management of long-term conditions
e. Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests, and other associated administrative tasks
f. Undertake telephone triage, F2F when necessary and duty doctor roles
g. Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance
h. Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload
j. Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice
k. Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or the QOF

We are a PMS practice based in Muswell Hill. We work across 2 branches. There are 2 partners and 7 salaried GP's including 2 nurses.

- In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the
post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of
duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and
queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat
prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a
timely fashion
- Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to
presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health
care workers within the organisation
- Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated
and undiagnosed problems
- Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of
illness
- Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and
in line with current practice disease management protocols
- Providing counselling and health education
- Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and
referring to other care providers as appropriate
- Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed
standards
- Collecting data for audit purposes
- Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions
(avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible)
- Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary
(or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
- In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the
