Job summary
We welcome a physician associate to join the
clinical team of PA's, clinical pharmacist, nurses and doctors in our large,
friendly and high achieving GP Surgery.
We provide GP services for 20,800
patients, based at a single modern and purpose built site that is well
connected to both tube, bus and rail networks. We are a training practice, with
4 GP trainees and medical students from 2 big teaching hospitals. We have trained
5 PA's over the last 4 years and hope to add to our team. The role will be
supervised at all times by an experienced GP. You will provide general GP
services, dealing with acute problems, chronic disease management and baby
clinics. The role can be tailored around your experience and interests.
This is a fulltime post, ie 37.5 hours (we
will consider part time) with a salary aligned to AfC 6-7 depending on
experience and qualifications with London weighting + NHS pension scheme and
will have 27 days AL +bank holidays (pro rata if part time).
Main duties of the job
The PA will be an integral member of the
practice team, in a patient facing role, caring for patients from initial
history taking and clinical assessment through to the diagnosis, treatment and
evaluation of care for both acute and chronic conditions. They will demonstrate
critical thinking in the clinical decision-making process, including assessment
and diagnostic skills, leading to the delivery of safe care for all patients.
They will be under the supervision of an experienced GP and will work
collaboratively with the practice team and the wider network within the Primary
care Network.
As part of the clinical team they will share
in the administrative tasks such as checking results and hospital letters.
