Job summary

We are looking for an experienced Practice Manager to lead our team in continuing to provide a high standard of service to our local patient population, whilst meeting our business objectives and delivery of key targets across the full range of clinical and administrative areas within the practice.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the success of the practice, working collaboratively with the GP Partners and within a well-rounded, supportive and stable team.

Experience of primary care is essential for this role. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of practice finance, proven people management across a range of roles and excellent organisational skills.

We are looking for a forward thinking team player with excellent communication skills, a compassionate and friendly nature, and an aptitude for getting things done.

You will have the ability to work in a demanding environment, work well under pressure and foster a supportive and efficient working environment to create a profitable, efficient, safe and effective practice and a happy and committed team.

Main duties of the job

To work closely with the GP Partners in developing and maintaining an efficient and productive GP practice. The Practice Manager will be responsible for all aspects of managing the Practice including:

  • Strategic planning to enhance practice growth and service delivery.
  • Financial management of the business.
  • Leadership and motivation of the team.
  • Patient services and satisfaction.
  • Staff recruitment, retention and development.
  • Compliance with NHS contractual, regulatory requirements and quality standards (including CQC, data protection, information governance and health and safety)
  • Dealing with formal complaints.

Archwood is a friendly, well-established, training practice serving circa 7900 patients living primarily in the Woodley, Bredbury and Romiley areas of Stockport.

Based in a modern, purpose-built surgery within Woodley Health Centre (close to junction 25 on the M60), our multi-disciplinary team includes 4 GP Partners, 2 Salaried GPs, Advanced Practitioner, Practice Pharmacist, 2 Practice Nurses, 2 Healthcare assistants, reception and administrative support, plus a share of associated professionals including First Contact Practitioners, Wellbeing and Self-care coordinators and pharmacists through our Primary Care Network (PCN)

The practice manager is well supported by the GP Partners andmanagement team.

We are part of Stockport East and South Primary Care Network (PCN) in which the practice managers enjoy a supportive and collaborative working relationship.

Experience

  • Proven people management leadership with experience in managing a diverse workforce.
  • HR knowledge and experience
