Medical Receptionist, Priory Medical Centre

2 x Full Time / Part Time

This role will receive, assist & direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way. The role will also provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone. This role will be a front of house role.

Morning shifts may start at 7.45am and afternoon shifts may end at 6.30pm. Please only apply if you can work these hours as you will have a mix of morning and afternoon shifts.

Main duties of the job

Job responsibilities:

Reception

  • Receiving patients consulting with members of practice team
  • Handing completed repeat prescriptions to patient and checking names and address.
  • Be able to cover all reception position as necessary
  • Process appointment requests for today future appointments from patients by telephone and in person.
  • Deal with visits requests

Administration

  • To have a thorough knowledge of all practice procedures.
  • To work in accordance of written protocols
  • Pulling/filing notes for surgeries and update as necessary
  • Filing post in medical records
  • Photocopy as requested
  • Registrations of new patients computer data entry and medical records.
  • Process patients change of address computer data and medical records (have knowledge of practice area.
  • Process repeat prescription request in accordance with practice guidelines.

Other Tasks

  • Clear rooms after surgeries
  • Ensure building security have thorough knowledge of doors/windows/alarm.
  • Any other tasks allocated by managers

Priory Medical Centre has an exciting opportunity for 2 Medical Receptionists to join our friendly, hardworking and capable team of 10 other receptionists.

This post, through expansion of our practice, will join our team of 4 GP Partners, 10 salaried GPs, 2 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, 7 Practice Nurses and 3 Health Care Assistants who serve 18,500 patients in Warwick. We also have a full complement of Allied Health Professionals on hand to further support the team, and we also co-work with the innovative Oken Community Nurse project.

We are a teaching practice with a regular allocation of trainees, we also demonstrate strong performance in QOF, CQC reports, and have a good dashboard and funnel chart measures within our CCG area.

We have recently relocated into purpose built, spacious premises in June 2021 offering a light, spacious, collaborative & pleasant working environment for all staff. Good transport connections and highly rated schools are all available locally.

  • Using appropriate infection control procedures, maintaining work areas in a tidy and safe way and free from hazards
  • Actively reporting of health and safety hazards and infection hazards immediately when recognised
  • Keeping own work areas and general / patient areas generally clean, assisting in the maintenance of general standards of cleanliness consistent with the scope of the job holders role
  • Undertaking periodic infection control training (minimum annually)
