Job summary

Overview

We are looking for a hardworking, enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Patient Care Advisor (Reception/Admin role). We are a surgery with over 20,000 patients local to Hyde and surrounding areas.

30 - 40 hour working week with sociable hours between 08:00-18:30. Free weekends.

You should be

Previous experience in General Practice is desirable (but not essential). However, if you do have experience, you may find this role easier if you had been in a patient facing role.

As you will be working with confidential information, maintaining that at all times is important. And as we work in a diverse community, supporting equality and the rights of patients and colleagues is essential.

Computer expertise is a must-have. You will be working with multiple IT systems (EMIS, DocMan, online appointment system) that will be taught on induction.

A permanent contract is subject to a successful six-month probationary period

Main duties of the job

  • Opening & Closing of the reception area

  • Prepare clinical rooms for the opening & closing of the practice

  • Scanning & Filing

  • Ordering stock & accepting deliveries

  • Incoming & outgoing post monitoring

  • Meeting & greeting, visitors & patients

  • Booking appointments, general queries in person & on the telephone

  • Communicate with patients and professionals

  • Data Entry & checking new patient registrations, online access requests

  • Code clinical information and summarise

  • Workflow optimisation

  • Refer to clinical and non-clinical services

  • Assist with medicines management

  • Work harmoniously with patients and staff

  • Be proactive in fostering a positive working environment

About us

We are a large, training practice with over 45 staff.
