Marriott's Medical Practices have the opportunity for 1 enthusiastic and motivated practice nurse to join our friendly and supportive nursing team working at our Taverham Surgery on a full time basis for 37 hours per week.

About us
Marriott's Medical Practices is a combination of two surgeries, Bacon Road Surgery and Taverham Surgery (Dispensing practice) with a combined patient base of over 13,000 patients.
We are a training branch and work closely with the UEA, teaching 1st, 2nd and 4th year Medical Students.
Our Nursing team is led by our Nurse Manager who is on hand to help, give support and will conduct the induction training when you first join the team.

Job responsibilities
You will work as part of the primary healthcare team providing personal medical services to our patients and the main duties are as follows:
- Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by senior nursing staff and GPs, for example: cytology, wound care/ulcer care, removal of sutures, new patient medicals/urinalysis, ECGs, asthma/peak flow readings/spirometry, venepuncture, hypertension management, routine immunisations/childhood immunisations.
- Chaperone and assist patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician.
- Assist GPs with minor surgery and coil fittings.
- Contraception.
- Request pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs.
- An interest in Diabetes or Coronary Heart Disease and Asthma.
- Follow agreed clinical protocols with referral to senior nurses or GPs as appropriate.
- Maintain and clean equipment used by the nurses and GPs.
- Maintaining GP and nurses rooms, stocking and rotating items as required.
- Maintain general tidiness and cleanliness of nurses and treatment rooms.
- Ordering of vaccinations to maintain stock levels.
- Participation in administrative systems in the practice.
- At all times there will be a need to maintain accurate records.
- A duty to advise senior nurses of potential problems or errors within the range of assigned tasks.
- Attend and participate in any Practice meetings when required.
- On occasion there may be a requirement to undertake home visits.
- Co-operate and participate as required in any research projects within the practice.
- Participate in the education and training of students of all disciplines and the induction of all members of practice staff with special responsibility for nursing staff.
