Main duties of the job

The Ash Surgery in Liverpool is seeking a full-time Practice Manager to manage the daily operations of a busy medical practice, whilst developing business strategy and emboldening a working environment of engaged, committed and talented personnel.

The Practice Manager will be responsible for supervising and training the support team, developing and implementing policies and procedures, managing financial records and billing, overseeing procurement of supplies, and ensuring that medical supplies and equipment are properly maintained. This is an on-site role.

About us

The Ash Surgery is a well established GP practice in Aigburth, South Liverpool, committed to delivering exceptional care to 6,600 patients with a dedicated leadership and support team.

The company employs 19 staff (clinical and non-clinical) and in addition to this they provide services at the practice in the form of social prescribers, a mental health nurse, physiotherapy clinics and prescribing pharmacists.

Job responsibilities

  • HR management including recruitment, retention and developing personnel policies.Development and training of the support team, appraisals, maintain a positive working environment and conflict resolution.Health and Safety staff management.
  • Patient engagement.Monitoring patient satisfaction and feedback.Patient communication and accessibility.Appointment systems and maximising usage. Handling and resolving complaints.
  • Accounting and business management.Paying invoice, control of medical stock and supplies, processing claims, financial projections, payroll, pension scheme administration, writing bids.
  • Business strategy.Developing new and creative ideas with the Partners and stakeholders of the surgery to constantly improve the patient experience and the working environment.Finding alternative ways of working alongside developing and expanding the knowledge of the team
  • Building Maintenance/Health and Safety. Overall responsibility for annual gas checks, fire drills, inspections, PAT testing, insurances, electrical safety, emergency lighting, cleaning contracts, general building repairs and renewals.
  • Confidentiality, and data protection.Ensuring compliance with all government guidelines, guaranteeing medical records are stored correctly, maintaining policies and procedures to keep all stakeholders safe
