Job summary

We are pleased to invite applications for the newly created position of GP Practice Paramedic to start as soon as possible. We would welcome applications from anyone interested in making this move into Primary Care and we are ready to support you with any training necessary. We have recently employed 2 paramedics and are excited to add a third memember to our new team. We run two practices in close proximity in sheen and Kew.This is an exciting role which will contribute to reshaping neighbourhood care for our populations. You will be working as part of a well-supported, large and expanding GP practice , across a diverse population. You will providing specialist paramedic resource and supporting delivery for our community.

Main duties of the job

Work as an autonomous, accountable Paramedic, providing a holistic approach including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to deliver high quality patient services.

- Assess, diagnose, treat, refer, or signpost patients with undifferentiated or undiagnosed conditions relating to minor illness or injury.

- Deliver patient care in both practice settings and through home visits.

- Use advanced clinical skills to provide education to patients and service users, promoting self-care and empower them to make informed choices about their treatment.

Richmond Medical Group looks after 17800 pateints acrosse two sites in South West London.We have a busy and diverse team employing 15 GP'S, 2 newly appointed paramedics, full nursing team, care cordinators, social prescribers and associated mental health workers, all working together to provide the high levels of clinical excellence and support to our patients.We use Emis Web and have a great administration support team with an excellent triage system to manage workload .We are a long established training practice and ecncourage and support staff dveleoment.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Alongside the duty doctor, to provide a first point of contact within the practice for

patients presenting with undifferentiated, undiagnosed problems, making use of

skills in history taking, physical examination, problem-solving and clinical decision-

making to establish a diagnosis and management plan

b. To provide assessment, treatment and diagnosis at point of first contact by

attending to patients in a variety of clinical or non-clinical settings according to

patients’ needs

c. To undertake home visits in accordance with the relevant protocols

d. To make professionally autonomous decisions for which he/she is accountable

e. To refer patients to an alternative care setting or treat and discharge as

appropriate

f. To instigate necessary invasive and non-invasive diagnostic tests or investigations

and interpret findings/reports

g. To ensure that professional standards are maintained and within the guidance

provided by the Department of Health, the Health and Care Professions Council

(HCPC) and the College of Paramedics (COP)

h. To support the development of excellent relationships across the PCN to enable

collaboration for better patient outcomes

i. To support network implementation of agreed service changes and pathways,

working closely with member practices, the wider PCN and the commissioner to

develop, support and deliver local improvement programmes aligned to national

and local priorities
