Job summary

Kingfisher Family Practice are looking for a qualified nurse to join their Clinical Team.

Situated in the Primary Care Centre the site is easily accessible by both private and public transport.

We are a small friendly team with a list size of over 14000 patients with a good reputaion in the town.

Main duties of the job

General practice nursing includes a variety of work so every day is varied.

Areas of work may include;

General Health Checks

Phlebotomy

Asthma reviews

Dressings

Baby vaccines

Flu and COVID vaccines

Contraceptive clinics

Diabetes checks

Job responsibilities

Deliver opportunistic and planned health promotion

Support patients to adopt health promotion strategies that promote patients to live healthily, and encourage principles of self-care

Assess and care for patients presenting with uncomplicated wounds

Support and advise women requesting information relating to sexual health needs

Support and manage health needs of women presenting for cervical cytology consultations

Implement and participate in vaccination and immunisation programmes for both adults and children

Advise, support and, where appropriate, administer vaccinations for patients travelling abroad

Promote and deliver evidence-based care for patients presenting with aural conditions

Assist in providing minor-surgery sessions.

Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency care
