Job summary

We are a GP Surgery in Chester City Centre looking for a flexible and hard-working strong team player to join our friendly Patient Services Administration team. Experience working within a busy office environment is essential.

The ideal candidate should have good ICT knowledge, be proficient with programmes such as Microsoft Office, previous experience working within General Practice with EMIS Web software is desirable but not essential as training will be given.

The applicant must be available to work shifts between 8am and 6.30pm Monday to Friday. Adaptability and flexibility is essential for sickness and holiday cover.

The role is for 25 -37.5 hours per week, between the hours of 8am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday.

We offer 5 weeks annual leave (not including Bank Holidays), The pay rate is £9.50 per hour.

Main duties of the job

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Answering the telephone and dealing with patient enquiries, booking appointments
  • General reception desk duties including registering new patients, greeting and directing patients and visitors, making appointments, taking prescription requests and dealing with general enquiries
  • Administration tasks such as scanning clinical letters onto patient records, contacting patients regarding test results, and inputting data to the clinical administration system.
  • Processing prescriptions, following Practice protocols
  • Upholding strict patient confidentiality at all times
  • working within the Team to imporve quality outcomes
