Job summary

We are currently looking for a temporary Administrator to cover maternity leave.

The candidate will have excellent organisational, communication and numeracy skills, have a keen eye for detail and work well under pressure. Although working as part of a team it is essential that the candidate can work independently.

Main duties of the job

Ideally applicants will have worked previously in general practice and have worked with Systm 1.

The successful candidate will:-

have excellent IT communication and organisational skills.

Experience of MS office, web and e-mail

GCSE English C or above

You will be able to work on your own initiative, prioritising your own workload and be ready to adapt to change when implemented. Accuracy is essential to ensure the quality of patient care is maximised.

About us

Felixstowe Road Medical Practice is a friendly busy practice located on the east side of Ipswich with 11000 patients. We have a team of 6 GPs, 4 Practice Nurses, 1 Health Care Assistants, 2 Secretaries, an Administration Team and 11 part time Care Navigators.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Process incoming correspondence in a timely and accurate manner to maintain a full and contemporaneous patient record.

Understand GDPR and control the information and processes required.

Develop internal and external communications to maintain regular contact with practice staff, and relevant partners. Be proactive when communicating to ensure patient care is of the highest importance.

Provide and receive information to support care of individual patients

Identify when there is a need for urgent action or for a step-up in care and alert the relevant professional(s)

Process new patient registrations and liaise with patients to keep them updated with regards to registration status

Summarise new patient medical records

Organise and process 24 hour ECGs and 24 hour blood pressures

Update, maintain, organise, and gather basic information to meet the needs of the role

Handle enquiries from patients with regards to online services
