Job summary

We are looking for someone who is interested in working closely with the existing partners to deliver excellent GP services and eventually, in the next few years, someone who will join the partnership and allow the current partners to significantly reduce their sessions and ultimately retire.

We are willing to consider applicants who want 3 or more sessions (job share style options available).

We are a thriving practice with a dedicated multi-disciplinary team. We practice safe working and salaried GPs and partners share the workload to ensure we provide excellent levels of care whilst not risking burn out.

We have a broad demographic with opportunities to consult with a diverse population however, we would be particularly interested to hear from any GP with a special interest in women's health to share this high demand area with our other salaried GP.

Main duties of the job

Deliver core GP services, Enhanced Services (local and national) in line with our GMS contract.

Private work is managed closely by our administrative team with GP oversight.

Home visits are minimal (average 4 across the GPs per week)

No elderly care homes 3 small Learning Disability care homes with a stable population

We are a 7000 list size, currently 2 partner practice with a skilled/committed multi-disciplinary team of both practice and PCN employed staff.

Rated No. 1 practice in Nottingham City (GP Practice Patient Survey 2023) we pride ourselves on delivering excellent standards of care, good access to appointments and a professional reception, admin and management team who work hard to support the clinical team.

We are located in the Sherwood area of Nottingham just under 4 miles from the City Centre.

The current practice structure supports flexible working and you will be able to work with the practice manager/partners to develop a job plan that enables you to work safely and achieve a healthy work/life balance.

The current partners are keen to identify an individual who will join them and allow the practice to thrive long beyond their own retirement

Standard BMA contract

Professional Indemnity costs reimbursed (negotiable in line with session rate)

Working days to be negotiated but must include either a Monday or a Friday.

Flexible session start and finish times by negotiation

12-13 appointments per session, mix of telephone and face to face as required

Interest in female health advantageous

Minimal home visits the practice averages 4 visits per week currently shared between partners

Self generated Admin/pathology results plus share of daily practice Admin and medication queries/EPS signing (all doctors in practice each day share this)

Working with GP Partners to provide clinical supervision to Physician Associate (protected time within session)

Working towards a strategic leadership role/partner position within 3 years

  • To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract. Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.
