Job summary

Tudor House Medical Practice is a family friendly GP practice in Sherwood, Nottingham. We have a list size of 7000 patients and are looking to recruit a new practice nurse to join our team.

You will be supported by a skilled team of GPs, nurses, a varied multi-disciplinary team along with an excellent non-clinical team all based in 1 building no split site working. The clinical team meet regularly and you will have the opportunity to contribute and learn from the team.

We can offer flexibility across the working hours of the practice; we are open Mon & Tues 07.30 19.00 and Wed-Fri 08.00 18.30. Shift patterns can be developed to suit the individual applicant dependant upon their experience and level of supervision required.

The vacancy is for up to 37 hours and we would be interested to hear from applicants who are looking for up to full time but equally if you are more interested in less hours please indicate this on your application.

We would welcome applications from experienced practice nurses however, in conjunction with De Montfort University we can offer a full training package for any nurse looking to move in to Primary Care from another setting. This will include training to deliver the full range of services needed from our practice nurse team.

Main duties of the job

You will be working as part of our nursing team to deliver all core and Enhanced Primary care nursing services e.g. immunisations, cytology, ECGs, venepuncture, wound care, ear irrigation and long term condition management. You will also have the opportunity to assist our GPs with minor surgery.

The nursing team undertake home visits for housebound patients needing venepuncture, routine vaccinations and chronic disease management. You will need to have a full driving licence and have access to a car at least 1 day per week to support the team with this.
