Job summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Practice Nurse to join our healthcare team to provide maternity cover for approximately 12 months.

Hours are flexible, ideally to be between 16 and 22 hours per week.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and support within our practice. You will be responsible for assisting with various clinical tasks, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care in a welcoming environment.

Main duties of the job

  • Conduct patient assessments and record medical histories accurately.
  • Administer vaccinations and medications as prescribed by physicians.
  • Assist in minor surgical procedures and wound care management.
  • Provide health education and advice to patients regarding their conditions and treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality is upheld at all times.
  • Monitor patient progress and report any changes to the medical team promptly.
  • Participate in health promotion activities within the community.

High Field Surgery is a efficient and welcoming GP practice in Leeds 16.

We have a nursing team comprising 3 nurses and 2 HCA, and are a SystmOne practice.

Essential

  • Qualified nurse with valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
  • Diploma in asthma and diabetes

Desirable

  • Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to support effective patient care.
  • Proven experience in a clinical setting, preferably within a primary care environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • A compassionate approach towards patient care, demonstrating empathy and understanding.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems is advantageous but not essential.
