Practice Nurse

Job summary

- A large practice (circa 9600 patients) with a passionate and committed team of GP partners, salaried GPs, ANPs, phlebotomists, pharmacists, practice nurses and HCAs

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a friendly, caring, experienced practice nurse who is an Excellent team player, and thrives in a busy work environment to join our practice nurse team.

Duties will include but are not exclusive to:

1. Perform thorough physical assessments and collect detailed patient health histories
2. Oversee all treatment room duties including baby and adult immunisations, vaccinations, smears, wound care, dressings and more
3. Management of long term conditions including asthma, diabetes and COPD
4. Provide compassionate direct patient care to a wide variety of patients often with complex needs
5. Administer medications and treatments as ordered by healthcare providers
6. Conduct patient education on various health topics to improve self-management
7. Monitor and document patient vital signs and symptoms- Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care
8. Excellent record keeping
9. Undertake mandatory and other training as and when required
