Practice Nurse
(Part-Time, approx. 21 Hours)

exciting opening for a Practice Nurse to join our friendly team. This
part-time position is approximately 21 hours per week, and we are
flexible about how those hours are arranged.

Main duties of the job
About the Role
Were looking for an NMC registered Practice Nurse who can bring
experience, enthusiasm, and compassion to our team. In this role, you will need
to be a Team player and:
Help
with Chronic Disease Clinics: Support patients with long-term conditions
Lead
Respiratory Care: Take charge of our asthma and COPD services. You will
need to be on the ARTP register.
Provide
General Treatment Room Care: Carry out some of the usual practice nurse
duties.
You will work as part of a close Team, collaborating closely with our GPs, nurse
colleagues, healthcare assistants, and administrative staff to ensure the
practice runs smoothly. We believe in a true team approach you'll always have
friendly colleagues ready to support you on a busy day or when facing a
challenge.
This position is part-time and approx 21 hours p.w. We understand that flexibility
is important, so we are open to discussing how you'd like to spread these hours
across the week.

Provide
nursing care to patients as required in accordance with clinical based
evidence, NICE and local requirements

Appraise
wounds and other minor injuries, administer dressings; refer to a practice
doctor or the hospital as appropriate

Take
swabs, cervical smears

Provide
immunisations and injections to children and adults
-
Assist
with Chronic Disease Management using the principles of MECC to maximise
encounters and minimise patient visits
- Take a lead in Respiratory chronic management

Support
the Nursing team in dealing with clinical emergencies

Monitor
the blood pressure of patients and consider indications for referral back to
the doctor

Assist
with ECGs and report the findings to the doctors

Assist the
phlebotomists with venepuncture

Insert
ring pessaries as directed by the doctor

Assist
with INR clinics, including patient dosing using INRstar when a suitable Health
Care Assistant is not available

nursing area and of the clinical equipment used

Monitor
and maintain adequate supplies of drugs, clinical items and equipment

and maintain emergency drugs bag

Appropriately
recording all treatment undertaken in the patients record on the computer
system

Ensure
templates and read codes are used effectively

Ensure
maximisation of QOF, Enhanced Services, IIF and other funding streams
