Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work with a
dynamic and friendly practice located in the idyllic town of Bradford on Avon
(with river, canal and architecture), 8 miles south east from Bath.
We are seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic,
flexible and proactive Practice Manager to support the practice in all aspects
of practice functionality and the provision of high quality patient services
within a safe, efficient working environment.
The post holder will play a pivotal role in
managing the day-to-day operability of the practice, motivating and managing
staff, optimising efficiency and overall performance, ensuring the practice
achieves its long-term strategic objectives in a safe and effective working
environment.
You will have previous experience of managing a
team and ideally knowledge of SystmOne (TPP) clinical system.
The role is a full time and based on site at the practice

a. Responsibility of day-to-day operations of the
practice, ensuring staff achieve their primary responsibilities and adhere to
policy and procedure at all times.
b. Providing leadership and guidance for the Practice
staff team.
c. Support the management team in the compilation
of practice reports, regarding sickness, absence and rota changes to ensure
that payroll is able to run smoothly.
d. Managing future appointment capacity and locum
requirement, providing guidance to the GP Rota planning team, building in
advance GP holiday planning.
e. Ensure overall practice compliance with CQC
training requirements.
f. Responsible for achieving IIF and QOF targets.

We operate across 3 GP sites, two in Bradford on
Avon and one in the nearby village of Winsley.
We serve a population of 20,300 patients, covering
both Bradford on Avon and Melksham. The current Practice team consists of 6 GP
partners, GP Associates, Retained GPs, as well as a multi-disciplined team
consisting of Clinical Pharmacists, Emergency Nurses, Practice Nurses, HCAs,
Paramedics, Mental Health practitioners as well as non-clinical staff. We are
in the process of expanding the team to incorporate further areas of expertise
into our multi-disciplinary team.

following are the core responsibilities of the Practice Manager. There
may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be
dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels.
The Practice Manager is responsible for:
a.
Managing future appointment capacity and locum
requirement, providing guidance to the GP Rota planning team, building in
advance GP holiday planning
b.
Leading the practice team in the day-to-day operations of
the practice, ensuring
staff achieve their primary responsibilities
c.
Liaising with patients with behavioural challenges and
those who are unhappy with the service provision, review facts and make
appropriate process changes to improve our service
d.
Providing leadership and guidance for the practice staff
team
e.
Ensuring staff adhere to policy and procedure at all
times, including practice appraisals/reviews
f.
Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation,
providing leadership and direction for staff on an ad hoc basis
g.
Managing the clinical system, working with the IT Manager
to ensure IT security and IG compliance at all times
h.
Monitor PM group mailbox (on rotation) ensuring
information is disseminated appropriately
i.
Ensure the effective use of online medical records, Teamnet,
Ardens, Accurx, EPS, IGPR & Patchs and other IT programmes
j.
Support the management team in the compilation of
practice reports, regarding sickness, absence, and rota changes to ensure
that payroll is able to run smoothly
k.
Ensuring the clinical session structure is effective,
meets the needs of the patients and clinicians have access to suitable room
l.
Supporting the overall practice clinical governance
framework, submitting reports for OQF, enhanced services and other reporting
requirements using CQRS / Open Exeter etc.
m.
Working collaboratively with the PPG to implement
changes/new services, keeping practice informed of patient views and
informing PPG members of latest practice updates
n.
Ensure outcomes from learning events are retained in
daily processes.
o.
Responsible for regular GP clinician meetings, enabling
the dissemination of learning events, advising actions to ensure high
achievement across all QOF areas, sharing interesting clinical learnings,
review procedural changes, prescribing changes, other information from BSW
CCG, PCN and LMC.
