Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Administrator to join our friendly, hardworking Clinical Trials Team in the idyllic town of Bradford on Avon.

The Clinical Trials Team support a number of research projects and clinical trials across a diverse range of clinical areas with the ultimate aim to improve health outcomes for patients.

We are seeking a well organised candidate with an interest in research to assist in the provision of high-quality clinical trials.

You will have good communications skills, a team orientated approach and the ability to plan and undertake work in an accurate, methodical and efficient manner. A good eye for detail is essential, as are strong administrative and IT skills. An understanding of the clinical trial process, clinical practice, research governance, and a familiarity with medical terminology would be advantageous but training will be provided where needed.

Main duties of the job

a) Coordinate the study set up process and manage multiple clinical trials at various stages of development

b) Take a leading role in providing all aspects of general administration and clerical work for the clinical research team, for example, document preparation, email correspondence, maintaining databases, filing, booking appointments and diary management

c) Support data entry according to study complexity and ensure that data is transcribed accurately where required.

d) Generate invoices; manage payment schedules; produce quarterly reports of clinical trials finances

We operate across 3 GP sites, two in Bradford on Avon and one in the nearby village of Winsley.

We serve a population of 20,300 patients, covering both Bradford on Avon and Melksham. The current Practice team consists of 7 GP partners, GP Associates, Retained GPs, as well as a multi-disciplined team consisting of Clinical Pharmacists, Clinical Trials Nurses, Emergency Nurses, Practice Nurses, HCAs, a Paramedic and an Emergency Care Practitioner as well as non-clinical staff. We are in the process of expanding the team to incorporate further areas of expertise into our multi-disciplinary team.

  • GCSEs including English and Mathematics at grade A-C (or demonstrable equivalent).
  • NVQ in Administration or equivalent demonstrable experience (similar demonstrable experience and willingness to work towards qualification would be considered).
