Due to retirement of our Practice Manager, a fantastic opportunity has arisen at our Practice. 

Are you an enthusiastic, well organised and resourceful Practice  Manager who would like to lead our team ? 

We have a supportive and friendly team of clinicans and administrative staff who work together to provide a high standard of care to our local population in the Rumworth area. 

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be part of a team and responsible for proactively managing all areas of the Practice from staff management, customer service, IT systems, performance and quality. They will lead on continuously improving practice business operations and effectively manage change to improve the services provided.

They will also work together with the GP partners to support business growth and income generation through enhanced services, BQC, QoF, CCG/Federation initiatives and working with the PCN.

Experience of managing an organisation within the NHS, preferably primary care would be desirable. The ideal candidate will have proven people management, communication, organisational and IT skills. Practice finance and business knowledge is essential, along with a leadership and/or management qualification.

The candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to deal with multiple tasks and work well under pressure, in addition to managing change for the surgery and working closely with our locality.

About us

Garnet Fold Practice operates from a main site on  St Helens road  and a branch site Southbrook surgery in Bolton. Both surgeries have recently been renovated to meet CQC standards. 

The Practice team consists of 4 GP partners, 2 salaried GPs, 3 Practice Nurses and 2 Health Care Assistants. We have secretarial and other recepetion and administrative staff. In addition we have attached staff who sopport our patients and team. These include Health Improvement Practitioner (HIP)MSK, Pharmacist, Mental Health Worker, Paramedic and Social Prescriber. 

We are a training Practice with 2 GPs providing teaching and supervision to GP registrars to work towards becoming independent GPs. All our team are highly trained and committed to work together to provide a safe efficient confidential and friendly service for our 6600 patients. 

We are a well performing Practice, both in terms of Bolton Quality Contract and QOF outcomes and provide a range of enhanced services.

The Practice Manger is responsible for:

· Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring staff achieve their primary responsibilities

· Functional management of all clinical and administrative staff

· Directly responsible for managing all administrative staff

· Managing recruitment process for the practice

· Establishing, reviewing and regularly updating Job descriptions and Person Specifications

· Managing contracts for services i.e. cleaning, gardening, window cleaning etc

· Leading change and continuous improvement initiatives

· Co-ordinating the reviewing and updating of all practice policies and procedures

· Co-ordinating and lead compilation of practice reports and the practice development plan

· Developing, implementing and embedding an efficient business resilience

· Managing the financial elements of the practice, including budgets, petty cash, etc. In conjunction with the partners

· Ensuring the team reach QOF targets (supported by the nursing and administrative leads)

· Co-ordinating the practice diary, ensuring meetings are scheduled appropriately/
