An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Medical Summariser / Coder to join our friendly GP practice.
Main duties of the job
The main responsibility of the Summariser/Coder is to administrate and filter the paperwork workflow in to the practice so that the GPs only see the items which need to be actioned and the rest is on the patients record ready for the next interaction. You will be responsible for the summarising of patients previous GP paper records into the electronic healthcare records on the clinical system and the coding of relevant information from hospital letters and clinical correspondance into the patients electronic healthcare records on the clinical system, adhering to the practice coding policy.
As Summariser/Coder you will be a vital member of the Administration Team. We receive large volumes of clinical information on a daily basis regarding patients and other matters. This filters in from a variety of sources and it all needs organising, coding, actioning and sharing with relevant people in the practice using Docman 10. The role consists of managing these documents, summarising, coding and updating patients' medical record within EMIS web.
About us
Didsbury Medical Centre is a Practice with a list size of around 16,000 patients. We are based in Didsbury, South Manchester and located in a converted Victorian House.
We have4 GP Partners, 8 salaried GPs, 2 Physician Associates, 3 Nurses, 1 HCA, 2 Care coordinators who are support by 3 Managers, Pharmacy Team, Practice Secretaries, Administration Team and a Reception Team.
