Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join our friendly and welcoming team at Pendle View Medical Practice.

As a secretary/administrator you will join a team who are focused on delivering impeccable customer service to our staff and patients.

This is an exciting new role at the practice working alongside our medical staff providing admin and secretarial support across a broad range of performance areas.

The role is 30 hours per week working Monday to Friday.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking team player to work within our administrative team.

The role will include typing e-Referrals, scanning and importing of hospital letters, following up patient hospital appointments where necessary, preparing insurance reports and liaising with the clinicians and insurance companies and solicitors, assist with recalls system for chronic diseases and Flu season.

Job description

Job responsibilities

All employees are expected to be flexible and display a high standard of teamwork. This includes cooperating in undertaking the work of absent colleagues or assisting others where the workload is particularly high. Accordingly, there may be a requirement, from time to time, to undertake other duties in an administrative role

Principal Responsibilities

To provide secretarial support to practice and patients, working under supervision and in accordance with practice protocols and guidelines.

Ensure efficient patient service by prompt production of referral letters

Following up patients hospital appointments when necessary.

Comply with Access to Medical Records Act by dealing promptly with processing Insurance reports, production of the appropriate invoice, liaising with the clinicians and insurance companies and copying Patient Notes for solicitors etc.

Liaise with hospitals and patients regarding appointments.

Deal with Access to Record requests from patients and their representatives, as required.

Awareness of QOF, Snomed CT codes and alerts needed for standardised care.

Manage the upkeep of GP LINK operations

Return of notes and marking notes arrived. Summarising patient notes.

Assist with patient recalls for chronic diseases using Ardens.

Previous experience using EMIS Web is preferred but not essential.
