Job summary

The Project Manager will support our SWL Training Hub CIC on itsjourney to enable all six SWL training hubs to deliver against HEE, SWL ICB and NHSE requirements. The SWL TH CIC will support allied providers to improve their sustainability and resilience; secure operational stability; develop more effective ways of working and help practices embed new models of care. The post holder will be an experienced, competent and organized Project Manager, with a health service background and preferably with experience of working in primary care and/or within training hubs. They will be the project management face of Wandsworth as a borough and support the CIC Directors and management team manage a range of activities specific for Wandsworth and in line with the HEE level contract awarded to the CIC. They will need to be highly motivated, efficient and forward thinking with the ability to work autonomously where needed and adjust rapidly to the developing needs of the organization. We are looking for someone with excellent communication, organizational and project management skills who has the ability to work with others to support Wandsworth as a borough and to help develop the SWL TH CIC to its full potential and ensure sustainability for the future.

Main duties of the job

Develop and expand student placement capacity in Wandsworth to create innovative and high quality placements

Support the understanding and needs of workforce planning across the Wandsworth networks

Support recruitment by developing and expanding the availability of multi-professional educators in Wandsworth

Support recruitment in Wandsworth by developing suitable educational programmes for the primary care workforce

Evaluate feedback and effectiveness of training and development opportunities to inform future commissioning decisions

Support retention in Wandsworth including promoting primary care as a first destination career to students

Ensure the timely collection of data and submission of reports incl HEE KPIs (twice yearly), SWL SDF (quarterly) and other ad-hoc project highlight reports

Support the delivery groups within SWL THs

Support workforce audits and training needs analysis in Wandsworth to help inform forthcoming programmes and determine financial priorities

Communicate effectively with Wandsworth practices, PCNs and individuals (via forums) to develop a deep understanding of workforce issues and to share information about new roles and how these can be introduced

Create and share a regular newsletter to highlight upcoming events and opportunities in Wandsworth

Identify funding opportunities and write new project proposals or bids for Wandsworth on behalf of SWL TH

About us

Training Hubs are a HEE model designed to meet the educational needs of multi-disciplinary health and social care team bringing together NHS organisations, community providers and local authorities.

South West London Training Hub CIC is a not-for-profit organisation, set up to hold the HEE and any other contracts and working across South West London. SWL Training Hubs include Croydon, Kingston, Merton, Richmond, Sutton and Wandsworth. Whilst each Training Hub retains its independence, a key theme is working together and 'doing things once' as appropriate. Place based Training Hubs will sometimes lead on a specific project across SWL on behalf of SWL Training Hub CIC.

SWL Training Hub CIC is rapidly developing and committed to supporting agile and flexible working, recognising that this will lead to more effective and efficient delivery.

1. Develop and expand student placement capacity in Wandsworth to create innovative and high quality placements for a full range of learners to meet the workforce needs of place in line with the long term plan and other recruitment initiatives. Working closely with the HEIs, practices, students and outreach opportunities and keeping comprehensive records for future planning and reporting.

2. Support the understanding and needs of workforce planning across the Wandsworth networks.

3. Support recruitment by developing and expanding the availability of multi-professional educators in Wandsworth together with their capabilities to support high-quality learning placements and teaching environments.

4. Support recruitment in Wandsworth by developing suitable educational programmes for the primary care workforce that help address population health needs, service re-design and integrated care and that ensure value for money and maximising capacity across SWL.

5. Evaluate feedback and effectiveness of training and development opportunities to inform future commissioning decisions.

6. Support and embed new roles in primary care, working closely with Wandsworth PCNs.

7. Support retention in Wandsworth including promoting primary care as a first destination career to students, through schools and higher education institutions and via careers events and fairs.

8. Ensure the timely collection of data and submission of reports incl HEE KPIs (twice yearly), SWL SDF (quarterly) and other ad-hoc project highlight reports.

9. Support the delivery groups within SWL THs.

10. Enable project planning and facilitation within SWL THs for ad-hoc projects.

11. Support workforce audits and training needs analysis in Wandsworth to help inform forthcoming programmes and determine financial priorities.

12. Communicate effectively with Wandsworth practices, PCNs and individuals (via forums) to develop a deep understanding of workforce issues and to share information about new roles and how these can be introduced.

13. Create and share a regular newsletter to highlight upcoming events and opportunities in Wandsworth and promote the workforce transformation agenda incl the use of local success stories to promote new ways of working.

14. Support and promote the Wandsworth SDF GP retention projects.

15. Identify funding opportunities and write new project proposals or bids for Wandsworth on behalf of SWL TH.

16. Promote placements, mentorship, preceptorship, GPN programme, advanced practice, apprenticeships and anything else that can help support and sustain workforce transformation.

17. Produce a Wandsworth specific annual report to share with key stakeholders locally and at SWL level.

18. Work with other SWL THs to identify new opportunities and in terms of collaborative working

Communication and Working Relationships

1. Maintain constructive relationships with a broad range of local and external stakeholders

2. Participate in working groups, projects, services and initiatives to develop the role and the WW TH provision across SWL.

3. Develop broader relationships with HEE and at Pan London level to support training hub comms and gather intelligence

4. Communicate effectively with Practices and others over the importance of a specific initiative or programme

5. Be a point of contact to resolve queries and create new opportunities for Wandsworth

Finance

1. Place orders and approve invoices being mindful of budget limitations and forward planning

2. Make recommendations on previous experience, knowledge from elsewhere and local needs as to what is required and how this can be provided within budget constraints

3. Act in accordance with local financial management guidelines

4. Strive for value for money and greater efficiency and ensure budgets operate in a recurrent financial balance year on year

5. Ensure good record keeping for all budgetary expenditure and use a suitable accounting software

6. Produce regular and accurate financial reports to SWL TH CIC and others as required

7. Report any issues or irregularities identified to the SWL TH CIC
