Job summary
At MIMP we are committed to supporting a happy and healthy work-life balance for all our team. As our practice list increases we are looking to expand our GP team further with the offer of a salaried GP post up to 8 sessions per week. Session timings are negotiable to factor in carer and other responsibilities including portfolio working.
Minimum £10k per session; salary negotiable dependent upon
experience. Your role will include a fair share of admin workflow and on-call
commitment underpinned by the practice's robust standard operating protocols (SOPs) to ensure patient safety.
We offer longer appointment times for complex patients as standard to facilitate holistic care and hold daily clinical multidisciplinary groups to support eachother and draw on the wider team's expertise.
You will be mentored by experienced GPs with expertise in education, research, patient safety, quality assurance and improvement. We encourage applications as part of a Fellowship or GP Retainer role.
Main duties of the job
To work as an autonomous practitioner,
responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population,
delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS
contract.
Furthermore, the post holder will
adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the
effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a
positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.
About us
We are an inner-city training practice located to the South of Manchester City Centre, serving 14000 patients from two sites at Longsight Health Centre and Moss Side Health Centre. We specialise in deprivation medicine and employ an integrative approach to the primary care we provide. Our CQC rating is Good (July 2018).
We are a supportive and diverse multi-professional team comprising GPs, Physician Associates, Clinical Pharmacists, Specialist Diabetes Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, First Contact Physiotherapists, Integrative Health Worker, Dietician and Health Care Assistants. As a training and research-active practice we train GPs, Foundation Doctors, Physician Associates, Pharmacists and Nurses. We operate a Primary Care Consultant / GP on-call system whereby the GP Consultant supervises, inspires, educates and nurtures the multi-professional team.
The practice is a member of Ardwick and Longsight PCN and we work closely with two place-based integrated neighbourhood teams across Hulme, Moss Side & Rusholme and Ardwick & Longsight.

Processing of
administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription
requests and other associated administrative tasks
On a rotational
basis, undertake telephone triage and on-call duty doctor roles
Maintain
accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy, and
guidance

collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload
Adhere to best
practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
Contribute to
the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives
within the practice

in practice audits as requested by the audit lead
