Job summary

Montague Medical Practice is looking to recruit two Practice Nurses to our clinical team. Applicants should be NMC registered and have previous experience of working in General Practice. We are flexible in our approach to hours and ideally would like each applicant to work a minimum of 3 days per week each.

Main duties of the job

Key skills that you will need to have are the ability to understand the requirements of working in Primary Care. Applicants should be able to provide a wide range of General Practice Nursing Duties to our patients, including management of Long Term Conditions, to participate in national screening programmes such as cervical cytology and the national immunisation programmes, be able to provide wound care to patients, and any other practice nursing duties required of the position.

About us

Montague Medical Practice is based in a purpose built surgery building, benefiting from a recent programme of full modernisation. We have two GP partners and a complementary team of Nurse Practitioners, HCA's and Pharmacists. We are part of the CYGNET PCN and take an active approach in working with our local community. We promote a learning environment, and would encourage all new staff to further their own knowledge via courses and practical learning.

We offer an excellent rate of pay, dependant on experience.25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata). Access to theNHS pension. Access to on site parking.

Job description

Job responsibilities

1To provide Chronic Disease Management to the patients of the practice, maintaining robust call and recall systems

2Participate in national screening work such as cervical cytology and deliver the national immunisation and vaccination schedule

3To provide wound care to patients

4Provide travel health advice and administer appropriate vaccinations

5Provide directly and assist GPs with contraceptive services

6Act as chaperone when required

7Undertake health promotion to help educate patients

8Select, carry out and interpret results of specific tests

9Undertake any other general practice nursing duties

10Monitor and ensure the safe storage, rotation and disposal of drugs

11Participate in any local/national initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care
