practice.
The ideal candidate will be a good
team player with excellent organisational and communication skills. They must
be able to work under pressure in a busy environment whilst maintain a mature,
polite and responsible manner.
It would be
desirable, but not essential, for the candidate to have experience of working
for a Pharmacy or within a surgery prescribing team prior to this application.

visitors, either in person or via the telephone.

repeat prescription requests and deal with medication queries.
Receive, assist and direct patients in
accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous,
efficient and effective way.
Provide general assistance to the Practice
team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors,
either in person or via the telephone.

Prescribing
- Process repeat prescription requests.
- Answer the telephone in prescribing.
- Deal
with prescribing queries.
- Deal with online
requests.
- My health online
set-up new requests and maintain.
- Tasks.
- Docman letters.
- Zoladex register.
- Readcoding.
- Liaise with
nursing/residential homes.
- Liaise with local
chemists.
- Deal with low
level patient concerns.
- Near Patient
Testing.
- Order new
prescriptions pads and paper from stores.
- Undertake
training as necessary.
Administration
- To
have a thorough knowledge of all Practice procedures.
- To
work in accordance of written protocols / SOP’s.
Appointments
- Process
appointment requests for today/future appointments from patients by
telephone and in person.
- Dealwith home visit requests.
Reception
- Receiving
patients consulting with members of Practice team.
- Handing
completed repeat prescriptions to patient and checking names and address.
- Be able tocover reception position
as necessary.
Computer
- Changing patient details–computer data entry and medical records.
- Process
repeat prescription requests in accordance with Practice guidelines.
- Process
e-mail requests in a timely manner.
Telephone
- Have working knowledge of the telephone system, during and after hours.
Other Tasks
- Ensure
building security – have thorough knowledge of doors/windows/alarm.
