IT & Digital Transformation Officer

Job summary

We have developed a new role to enhance and complement our team. The IT and Digital Transformation Officer will lead the maintenance, improvement, and future-proofing of the practices IT systems, digital services, and data processes. This role focuses on supporting day-to-day technical needs, implementing new technology solutions, and driving digital innovation to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.

Main duties of the job

IT Infrastructure and Support

Manage/maintain the practices IT infrastructure, including computers, printers, servers, and telephony systems.

Provide first-line technical support for staff, diagnosing/resolving IT issues promptly.

Work closely with external IT providers to ensure robust, secure, and up-to-date systems.

Administer/maintain user accounts, permissions, and security protocols for clinical systems (e.g., EMIS, Docman).

Ensure network stability, data backups, and cyber security measures are in place/effective.

Oversee rollout of new hardware, software, and system upgrades.

Digital Transformation and Innovation

Lead projects to implement and optimise digital tools, such as online consultations, remote monitoring and patient self-service systems.

Support the integration of NHS Digital initiatives, including the NHS App and other patient-facing platforms.

Identify and evaluate emerging technologies that can improve patient access, data security, and practice efficiency.

Train/support staff in the use of new systems and digital workflows.

Maintain and enhance the practice website and digital communication channels.

Data Management & Reporting

Ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance with GDPR, NHS information governance.

Develop/run regular data reports to support clinical performance monitoring, QOF, and IIF targets.

Support data-driven decision-making, creating dashboards, reports, and analytics tools.

Assist in data audits and quality improvement projects

About us

Mocketts Wood Surgery is a GP Surgery looking after 9300 patients. We are based in the beautiful village of St Peters in Broadstairs. We currently have a fabulous team comprising of 5 GP's, 3 Practice Nurses, 1 Nurse Associate, 1 Pharmacist, 2 Health Care Assistants, 2 Frailty & Social care Coordinators and administrators, who work together to provide high levels of clinical excellence and support to our patients.

We are looking to complete and enhance our team by fulfilling the post of a professional, positive and an enthusiastic IT & Digital Transformation Officer.

2. Desirable:

Experience working in a GP surgery, NHS organisation, or healthcare IT role.

Certification in IT-related qualifications
