We have an exciting opportunity for a experienced Medical Secretary to join our forward thinking, supportive, family friendly training practice.
Role is Part time 15 -20 hours per week. (2-3days)
Equivalent to band 3 / 4 on Agenda to Change
- CQC rating Outstanding (December 2018)
- High QOF points, EMIS Web, Docman
- GP Training practice
- 13,000 Patients
The role requires experience of typing and knowledge of making referrals to secondary care or other clinical providers, through our clinical system. The Secretarial team comprises of 2 Medical Secretaries at present, once recruitment process is completed there will 3 in the team.
They will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary general practice team to meet the needs of patients and to support the delivery of policy and procedures.
Main duties of the job
Summary of Medical Secretary Role in the Practice:
To provide clinicians with an accurate and timely secretarial service, primarily involving the referral of patients for secondary or social care.
To assist patients with referral or appointment queries in a responsive, willing and helpful manner. To work with the doctors, support staff, Primary Care Network teams and other Primary Health Care Team colleagues, as a team, in helping to achieve a good standard of service for our patients.

We are a large, friendly team with 5 Partner GPs and 1 Management Partner; 2 salaried GP's; 2 GP Reg; 2 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, 1 Clinical Pharmacist, Practice Nurse Manager, 5 Practice Nurses, 3 HCAs and highly skilled Management and Administration teams.
