We're looking to expand our team and have a number of permanent, full time and part time posts for Practice Support Administrators to join our Chichester and Bognor Regis hubs.

The post-holder will play a key role in supporting primary care, with the important purpose of supporting member practices and their patients. This includes providing telephone support, practice internal communications and prescription management. This will be done within a defined framework of agreed duties; covering 80% of the duties carried out by the permanent practice staff.

The successful candidates must be willing to travel to different locations as required.

Hours of Work

Full Time - 37.5 hours per week, 08:30 - 16:30 Monday to Friday.

Part Time - 17.5 hours per week, hours of work are flexible.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will undertake a variety of reception and admin duties; book appointments on behalf of patients, answer a range of other queries, monitor and complete patient tasks/patient notes and support prescription duties as per each practice internal processes.

The IPC Practice Support Administrator will work as part of a supportive team, regularly communicating with GP practice staff at all levels. The role will mainly be based at Chichester or Bognor Regis however, there will be occasional need to work from one of the GP practices.

This role will be evolving as the service is established. Training will be provided as part of the role.

Experience

Essential

  • Driving licence with access to vehicle
  • Experience of working in an efficient administrative environment
  • Calm under pressure
  • Able to work independently
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
  • Clear communicator with an excellent telephone manner
  • Ability to integrate effectively within multiple teams
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Pro-active in problem solving

Desirable

  • Previous medical knowledge/previous experience of working within a medical environment
  • Knowledge of clinical databases
  • Flexibility to provide additional cover when required in order to maintain adequate levels of staffing to ensure continuation of core services
  • Understanding of Data Protection legislation
