Job summary
We are looking to recruit a GP to join our
existing team. The post would be for between four sessions, and it would be necessary to work a combination of both mornings
and afternoons.
Main duties of the job
To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract.
Furthermore, the post holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.

Job responsibilities
- To provide General Medical Services to patients registered with the surgery
- To respond appropriately to medical problems presented by patients on the practice list, including history taking, examination, investigation, diagnosis, treatment and referral where appropriate. Also, to provide continuity of care with appropriate follow up of results and correspondence.
- Provide emergency cover for absent colleagues when required placing the needs of the practice as a priority.
- Provide appropriate health care and health promotion within the context of practice work and ongoing developments around the nGMS contract
- Provide home consultation (visits) to any member of the practice population as appropriate
- Use and maintain patient computerised clinical records
- Complete medical record information requests from authorised third parties
- Participate in discussions around meeting local and national quality targets and assisting in their implementation
- Remain informed of changing and new priorities within the NHS
- Attend weekly meetings clinical and partners meeting alternate weeks
- Undertake administrative duties needed to fulfil your role
- Engage in annual appraisal and the revalidation cycle
- Work collaboratively and offer ongoing supervision and support to the wider clinical team
- Support the training of GP Registrars in the practice
- Provide care to the Practice Nursing home
- Participate in GP commissioning within the North locality.
