Job summary
Following a structure review, an opportunity has arisen for a new
Practice Manager to join our well established Practice.
The post is offered at 28 hours per week, to be worked over 4 days
including Mondays and Fridays. We may be flexible with the hours, as getting
the right candidate is most important, as we look to establish the new
structure.
As Practice Manager you will be accountable to the seven GP Partners.
You will work closely with the partners ensuring that we meet our contractual
responsibilities and looking ahead at how we can continue to deliver a
successful Partner led Practice.
The successful candidate will have overall responsibility managing the
team and day-to-day operations of the Practice. You will maintain the smooth, efficient running of the surgery, serving a patient population of 10,300.
You will be supported by an Operations Manager responsible for many of
the day to day processes we deliver and a Business Manager who's main focus is
making sure that the surgery is financially stable.
This role will predominantly revolve around our people, both staff and
patients, helping to ensure that staff are supported in what they do and
patients continue to receive a good level of service of care. Therefore, you
must have previous Practice Manager experience with excellent communication and
organisation skills. Experience managing staff with a good HR background and
experience of dealing with the public is essential.
Main duties of the job
You will work closely with the
Partners developing and maintaining an efficient and effective GP Practice.
Responsibilities include but not
restricted to general management and leadership, managing the day to day
operations of the Practice, compliance of contractual requirements and CQC, staff
development, HR, systems development and ensuring compliance with GMS contract
whilst ensuring quality patient services is delivered at all times.

Pavilion Surgery is a long
established, friendly Practice located in the city centre of Brighton with a patient
list size of 10,300.
We have 7 partners, 2 salaried GPs,
3 Practice Nurses, 1 HCA. Our recent restructure has also created an Operations Manager to oversee
the day to day running of the Practice, a Business Manager, 2 secretaries and admin/reception team.
Our last
CQC rating was good.
We are also part of East &
Central Brighton PCN and within the network we have access to various additional
roles: Clinical pharmacists, Social Prescribers, Mental health team and Occ therapists.
