Job summary
We are looking for a receptionist to assist with the smooth and efficient running of reception. We strive to be a warm friendly and welcoming practice. We are looking for a calm, patient and understanding individual who can interact well with patients, providing a high quality service to our patients in accordance to the Practice procedures and policies.
All applicants must be reliable, hardworking with a positive, can do attitude. You will have the ability to remain calm and good natured when sometimes faced with challenging situations.
Applicants will be expected to have a good standard of education, including English and Maths and good IT skills are essential. Some flexibility is required to cover holidays and sickness when required.
This is a very busy role and individuals with previous experience working in a GP practice or similar healthcare setting would be an advantage.
Working pattern
Monday 2 - 6pm
Tuesday 1 - 6pm
Wednesday 9 - 2pm
Thursday 2.30 - 6.30pm
Friday 2.30 - 6.30pm
Main duties of the job
- Answer the phones in a polite and timely manner.
- Assisting patients in a friendly, professional manner.
- Sign posting patients to the most appropriate appointment or service.
- Work with confidential and sensitive information, maintaining confidentiality at all times
- To ensure high levels of accuracy are maintained in all aspects of work.
- Process repeat prescription requests in accordance within Practice guidelines
- Liaise with clinical staff, GP's and management to meet patients needs.
- Process administrative tasks associated with the role upon receiving full training
- Other duties as requested by the Reception Supervisor, Practice Management or GP's.
Successful applicants must be willing to attend training to enhance the job role and keep up to date with current practices and policies.
