If you have worked in GP before you will know this
already, if not then we are happy, as long as you are enthusiastic, empathetic,
meticulous and hardworking we are prepared to train you in this role.
Being a GP Receptionist is an interesting,

support each other.

friendly16,000 patient population, are aTeaching Hubfor
all levels of training and clinically scoreOutstanding for care by
CQC. We are situated in a purpose-built health center, with secure staff
parking, and easy to access commuter routes.

well as the current GP Team, we have an experienced nursing team for chronic
disease management, first contact MSK practitioners, a social prescribing team,
a Mental Health Practitioner, pharmaceutical prescribers, and most importantly
experienced managerial and admin teams.
We are proactive within Oldham South PCN, many of
our team occupy lead roles within. The current NHS primary care model is PCN
based, so we have formed great ongoing relationships within, putting Quayside
at the center of many future developments.

Job responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities to be undertaken by members of the reception team may include any or all of the items in the following list. Duties may be varied from time to time under the direction of the practice manager, dependent on current and evolving practice workload and staffing levels:
- Ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and any other visitors to the practice
- Deal with all general enquiries, explain procedures and make new and follow-up appointments, either over the telephone or face to face.
- Appropriately signpost patients
- Processing and distributing incoming mail and email
- Filing and retrieving paperwork
- Processing repeat prescriptions in accordance with practice guidelines
- Computer data entry/data allocation and collation; processing and recording information in accordance with practice procedures
- Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team member and associated healthcare agencies and providers
- Providing administration assistance as required from time to time, including filing, photocopying and scanning
- Ensure that all new patients are registered onto the computer system promptly and accurately
- Receive and make telephone calls as required. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring you remain professional at all times.
- Ensure the kitchen is kept clean and tidy in turn with other staff.
- Keeping the reception area and notice-boards tidy and free from obstructions and clutter
- Work well within the team.
