Job summary
We are looking for a part-time trained Advanced Nurse or Paramedic Practitioner (ideally with prescribing qualification) to support our clinical team to provide patient access to both scheduled and unscheduled care provision. The aim of the role is to :
- deliver convenient accessible care
- provide assessment, differential diagnosis and treatments of acute episodes of minor health and minor injury conditions
- work in partnership with patients in agreeing management plans
- promote self care in order that patients are empowered to manage their own health needs
The role:
- Fixed term role (to end Mar 25)
- 2 to 5 days a week (15 hours)

Main duties of the job
- To conduct patient consultations using specialist knowledge in relation to minor injuries and health problems. Full assessments, history and differential diagnosis to be made in order that a management plan can be agreed with the patient.
- Interventions are timely, and may include provision of urgent care in an emergency.
- To contribute to the ongoing development of clinical guidelines reflecting best evidence based practice.
- To ensure that referrals to other primary and secondary services are made in line with agreed guidelines.
- To utilise diagnostic and clinical skills, developing new skills where appropriate.
- To prescribe according to and within scope of practice.
- Supply and administer medications in accordance with legislation and practice policies.
- To utilise clinical judgement, providing care and treatment within agreed guidelines where the need arises and within scope of practice.
- To have a working knowledge of child protection, the abuse of older people and domestic violence and refer to services as necessary.
