Job summary
We are looking for a Clinical Pharmacist to join our friendly practice team at Chelston Hall Surgery.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and highly motivated
individual.
Main duties of the job
This role will cover 3 key domains:
1.
To work within an established pharmacy team to
develop and undertake a high-quality, specialised clinical pharmacy service to
patients in general practice to ensure safe, clinically effective and
cost-efficient use of drugs, using your pharmacy expertise, knowledge and
skills to support better access to safe and appropriate medication.
2.
To develop and deliver a sustainable approach to
medicines optimisation through collaboration with other stakeholders
3.
To develop practice commercial interests through
innovation and opportunity
About us
We have a forward thinking, dynamic team at Chelston Hall and are looking for someone who can enhance our team
and help us further develop our philosophy of integrated multi-disciplinary
working. We are a friendly practice serving the local community. Our list size
is approximately 18,500 patients. Our clinical team already comprises of
doctors, nurse practitioners, practice nurses, health care assistants,
phlebotomists and a pharmacy team.

Essential
- Any of these Community / hospital / GP practice pharmacy experience
Desirable
- Policy and process development
- Medicines governance role
- Commerical experience
- GP practice or community hospital experience
Qualifications
Essential
- Educated to Pharmacist level
- Evidence of relevant CPD
- Member of GPhC
- Qualified with, or willingness to train, and be registered with the GPhC as an independent prescriber
Desirable
- Previous GP practice experience but this is not essential
Knowledge and skills
Essential
- To at all times recognise the limitation of own knowledge and experience and to always ask for help when required
- Knowledge of CD legislation and any other legislature that relates to medicines and their use
- A strong desire to learn
- Understanding of equality and diversity legislation
- Advocacy for patients, family and co-workers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent system specific IT skills
- Understanding of Quality and Outcomes Framework
- Understanding of the role of public health and demonstration of health promotion
- Be able to work unsupervised to high standard
