Job summary

The Deputy Practice Manager will take ownership of the efficient day to day running of the Practice by line managing staff, meeting compliance requirements, and managing rotas and room allocation. The post holder will support the Practice Manager and work as a key member of the Management Team.

Main duties of the job

New Southgate Surgery has an enthusiastic team committed to developing the Practice and providing first class services for our patients. The Deputy Practice Manager will offer strong leadership with business, financial, and people skills to continue to drive the Practice forward by identifying, and acting on, Practice and business opportunities.

About us

We currently have 10 GPs, 1 GP Registrar, 4 Nurses, 1 HCA and 2 Phlebotomists, along with a large administration team.

  • Experience of working in a healthcare setting; Experience of working with the general public; Experience of managing large multidisciplinary teams; Experience of performance management, including appraisal writing, staff development, and disciplinary procedures; Experience of successfully developing and implementing projects.

Desirable

  • Primary Care General Practice experience; A working knowledge of employment law with Health & Safety experience.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Strong IT skills; Excellent leadership skills; Strategic thinker and negotiator; Ability to prioritise, delegate, and work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment; Able to work independently and be solutions focused; Ability to network and build relationships; Willing to be flexible, to work outside of core office hours when necessary, and multi-task whilst not losing sight of priorities; Proven problem solving and analytical skills; Ability to motivate and train staff, enhance morale and maintain a positive working environment, including team building sessions; Ability to present to meetings; Maintain confidentiality at all times.
