Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Practice Nurse to join our friendly team who was voted 8th best practice in Nottinghamshire in 2022.

We are an inner city practice with a list size of 6906 patients with good public transport links to the city and the M1.Our surgery is located within a purpose built health centre (with air conditioning), across from the tram stop and town centre. We are looking for an enthusiastic practice nurse to join our friendly team of 4 GP Partners, 2 Practice Nurses, 2 HCAs and a supportive administrative team. We pride ourselves in providing good clinical care to our patients and being a very supportive working environment, which encourages career development. Our current practice nurses have come from research and hospital backgrounds, and have been supported to develop as practice nurses and nurse prescribers.

Ideally you should be confident in working independently to support our patients to manage their chronic/long term conditions, as well as participating in health promotion, vaccination program and screening. Experience in womens health, child health and all aspects of practice nursing would be helpful but not necessary as opportunity for training will be provided for the suitable candidate.

Main duties of the job

To work as a Practice Nurse within the organisation taking responsibility for assessing the nursing needs of patients attending surgery with a broad range of long term conditions, vaccination, wound care, screening and health promotion.

All duties and responsibilities to be carried out in accordance with protocols developed by the Nursing Team and in agreement with the Nurse Clinical lead.

To provide a high quality, evidence based easily accessible service for patients. To be able to time manage during clinics to ensure a seamless service that is delivered on time, as far is reasonably practical, to the patients.

To be able work within a multidisciplinary team setting.

We are a friendly team of 4 GP partners, 2 practice nurses, 2 HCAs, a small and supportive administrative team with a very approachable Practice manager.
