The vacancy is for a
salaried GP for 6 - 8 sessions per week with a view to Partnership.
We are a friendly, well established and growing semi-rural
training practice based south of Bath, offering a supportive environment and with

Main duties of the job
As a salaried GP you will manage a caseload and deal with
a wide variety of health needs in a primary care setting working individually and
as a team to ensure a high standard of care for all registered and temporary
patients as you carry out the associated clinical and administrative duties.

Three partners, six salaried GPs, one ANP and one Paramedic Practitioner
Three First Contact Physiotherapists, two PCN
Paramedics, Health Connector, Practice & PCN Pharmacist and two PCN
Pharmacy Technicians
Purpose built main surgery in Beckington, modern
branch surgery in Frome Health Centre
Sessions with twelve x 15 minute appointments
and three x 5 minute follow up appointments
Virtually no home visits, visiting paramedics
Dispensing at main site
EMIS web across both sites
AccuRx total triage
Established training and teaching Practice
Shared network cover of enhanced access; additional pay or time in lieu offered

Job responsibilities
The
duties of the post are to provide a full range of general medical services as
contained within the National Health Services (Primary Care) Act 1997 and which
will include domiciliary visits as deemed appropriate.
The
post holder is expected to support the partners of The Beckington Family
Practice in providing all services outlined in the GMS Core Contract and also
in the aims and objectives of the Practice.
The
post holder is expected to support and input into the aims of the practice in
areas of clinical governance, good practice, quality outcomes framework (or its
replacement), enhanced services, practice audit, referral review and any other
improvement plans as determined by the practice.
The
post holders prescribing should be according to accepted clinical practice and
guidance for acute and repeat prescriptions. It should follow practice policies
and procedures eg use of formulary and management of repeat prescribing
The
post holder is encouraged to utilise and develop any skills for the improvement
of services to patients, such as minor operations, child health surveillance,
family planning training etc, if approved by the ICB. This will be subject to
presentation of the appropriate certificates and update of relevant courses.
The
post holder is expected to maintain and keep good standards of computerised
clinical records at all times. Full involvement in any practice training is expected.
