Job summary

Bridge House Medical Centre has a vacancy for a treatment room nurse in General Practice part time or full time, flexible hours.

Main duties of the job

To be responsible for the delivery of Primary Care practice nursing services including cytology, childhood Immunisations, dressings, & wound care, working as part of the practice multidisciplinary team who provide care within their scope of practice to the entitled patient population.

We are a GP Surgery in the heart of Stratford-Upon-Avon with 3 partners, 4 Salaried GPs, 2 Nurses, an HCA and 2 ACPs. We have a patient list size of 9380. We are looking for a Treatment Room Nurse.

Job description

Job responsibilities

To provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care within the treatment room, supporting the GP team to deliver safe, efficient services. The post-holder will undertake a range of treatment room procedures in line with practice protocols, infection control standards and CQC requirements, helping to manage workload safely and effectively.

Womans health care including contraception and cervical cytology

Removal of sutures/clips

Wound management including compression therapy

Routine injections and immunisations (childhood imms; Vitamin B12, hormone injections, Dip/Tet/Polio, flu vaccines, pneumovac,)

Health screening

Undertaking planned and opportunistic tests and investigations at the request of a GP, Nurse Practitioner.

Doppler assessments

ECG

Assisting with minor surgery

Assisting with LARC insertion and removals

Travel health

Desirable but not essential; Diabetes Management. Hold or willing to undertake a diploma in Diabetes to support the care of patients with diabetes, promoting engagement with diabetic services and encouraging self-management in collaboration with GPs.

Maintain up to date knowledge through CPD.

Registered Nurse with current NMC registration

Essential

  • Recent experience in a treatment room, practice nursing role.
  • Ability to provide quality care; good team worker; excellent work ethic and learning aptitude.
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills.

Desirable

  • Diabetes Diploma, or willing to undertake a diploma in Diabetes Desirable not essential
