Job summary
We are
looking to recruit a cheerful, enthusiastic experienced Practice Nurse on
a fixed term contract to join our friendly team here at Bridge House Medical
Centre in Stratford upon Avon.
We would
like you to provide general nursing services to the practice population
including treatment, screening and advice according to practice policy and
protocols within the professional competence of the post holder.
Ideally
you would have some experience in managing patients with diabetes but this is not essential.
The post
holder will always work within the Code of Conduct as set out by the Nursing
and Midwifery Council.
We can

Clinics on Saturdays or Tuesday evenings.

TREATMENT ROOM RESPONSIBILITIES
Womans
health care including contraception and cervical cytology
Removal of
sutures/clips
Wound
management including compression therapy
Routine
injections and immunisations
Phlebotomy
Health
promotion

screening
Undertaking
planned and opportunistic tests and investigations at the request of other
members of the clinical team
Doppler
assessment
Assisting
with minor surgery
Travel
health

About us
You would
be working alongside another highly experienced Practice Nurse and HCA. The
wider team benefits from two Advanced Nurse Practitioners, as well as a
Clinical Pharmacist, Physio, Social Prescribers and Wellbeing Coach as well as
a large clinical team of GPs who are forward thinking with diverse interests.
Our
patients tend to have been registered with us for many years and have enjoyed
continuity of nursing care at our surgery.

- Initiate and arrange a methodical assessment of patient and service needs
- Work within an integrated and multidisciplinary team environment using appropriate referral pathways
- To be aware of health and safety issues affecting staff, patients and visitors and keep up to date with health and safety training
- Decide on appropriate wound dressing for individual patients in line with practice policy and in accordance with practice formulary.

- Assist and chaperone GPs, when necessary, with the examination and treatment of patients.

Of course, you must maintain current membership of a professional organisation, e.g., RCN with a valid NMC pin. The ability to remain calm under pressure and think logically, whilst having an understanding and sympathetic nature is essential. We use EMIS as our clinical IT system and previous experience of this would be an advantage.
