Harborough Field Surgery is looking to recruit a part time Receptionist , 25 hours per week Monday - Friday 13:30 - 18:30. The successful candidate will also need a level of flexibility to cover annual leave and sickness cover.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and ideally experienced Receptionist to join our busy friendly practice in Rushden. We are looking for a reliable, hard working and flexible person to join our reception team.
Currently
a GMS practice, we are a consistent performer in QoF achieving a minimum of
97.45% during the last 10 years. We
accept the majority of DES & LES. We are a training practice, GP Enhanced Access Hub and carry out family planning/minor surgery clinics.
Main duties of the job
Main Duties of role
- Greet patients and visitors as they enter the GP practice
- Be welcoming, friendly and helpful to patients and visitors
- Book in, amend and cancel patient appointments both in person, online and over the phone in accordance with the practices appointment procedures
- Signpost patients to the correct services and ensure all patients and visitors are redirected accordingly
- Ensure the practice is running smoothly and efficiently and helping the practice manage its extensive patient load
- Manage online consultations effectively using triage system, and assisting patients who are unable to use online services
- Be a bridge between patients and the members of the healthcare team to optimise care
- Undertaking administrative tasks
- Maintaining the front reception area, ensuring it remains clean and tidy and free of any obstruction and mess
- Liaising with healthcare professionals when necessary
- Helping new patients get settled into the practice by walking them through the process of officially joining the GP
- Using computers to arrange and amend appointments, helping GPs and nurses stay on top of their workload, and managing e-consultations and patients notes
About us
Located on the outskirts of Rushden in a purpose built medical centre which opened in 2006, the surgery boasts 9 doctors, currently serving a population of some 14,000 patients.
Clinically the doctors are supported by a Clinical Pharmacist, 3 Nurse Practitioners, 4 Treatment Room Nurses, 1 Health Care Assistant and 2 Nursing Assocaites. We also have access to a First Contact Physiotherapist, a Paramedic Home Visiting service, daily Paediatric Nurse clinics, a Social Prescriber and Care Coordinators for our care home residents and elderly, frail patients.
Our Practice Manager is supported by an Operations Manager and our Administrative support team includes 8 Receptionists and 7 Administrator/Secretaries. The surgery is a training practice and hosts GP Trainees and Medical Students from Cambridge University. The surgery hosts the GP Enhanced Access Service.
