We are looking for an enthusiastic, smart, friendly and committed Receptionist/Administrator to join our friendly and well-organised GP practice in Romiley, Stockport.
Main duties of the job
Our new member of staff will work 24 hours a week and have set working hours over a 6 week period.The post hours are a variety of morning, afternoon or evening shifts, between the hours of 8am to 730 pm, over 3/4 days, but will be flexible. You will be able to provide cover at short and long term notice to cover staff absences. This may mean changing your hours for that week and possibly undertaking a full day of work on some occasions.
You must have an excellent attendance record, be a good timekeeper, able to work under pressure and enjoy working as part of a team. Previous medical Reception experience is advantageous as is knowledge of EMIS and coding. We are committed to workflow optimisation.
About us
We are a busy practice serving 7000 patients. Our Primary Health Care team includes 6 GP's , 1 Advanced Practitioner, 1 Practice Nurse and 2 HCA's. We also have First Physio Practitioners, Carers clinics, and Health and Wellbeing counsellors
We encourage learning and we offer training and support to all our staff. We have monthly staff meetings and twice yearly away days.
Romiley is a thriving suburb of Stockport with good local schools, excellent transport links and easy access to the great outdoors.
The successful candidate will have to supply 2 referees and have a DBS check prior to commencement. Previous candidates need not apply.

person.

consultations on the computer list
Computer
- Registrations of new patients
computer data entry and medical records.
- Process patients change of address
in a timely manner computer data and medical records (have knowledge of
practice area)
- Process repeat prescription
request in accordance with practice guidelines.
- Scanning and filing
correspondence into computer medical records via Docman
- Read code letters and recognise
when a patient is on a disease register
- Enter data for QOF i.e. smoking
status, weight etc
- Act on screen alerts when
patients contact the practice and deal with accordingly
- Continuously validate patient
details using correct computer codes
- Enter contact notes on computer
for messages left for patients
- Completion of patient details on
pathology forms
Telephone
- Have working knowledge of telephone,
during and after hours
- Answer calls promptly using a
good telephone manner, assist with queries and take messages where
necessary
Other Tasks
- Clear rooms after surgeries and
make sure clinicians rooms are stocked
- Ensure building security have
thorough knowledge of doors/windows/alarm
- Ensure reception and other areas
are kept tidy
- Any other tasks allocated by
managers
