White Medical Group in Ponteland are looking for an
organised, hardworking and enthusiastic, part-time Medical Secretary to join our admin
team!
The Medical Secretary is primarily responsible for
undertaking secretarial duties to the clinical team.
A sound professional working relationship will be
required with the GPs and staff working within the Practice. The role requires
high levels of organisation and excellent interpersonal skills.
DAYS OF WORK: Monday to Friday 32.5 hours per week
HOURS OF WORK: 6.5 hours per day, 9:30am-4:30pm (negotiable)
PAY: £11.86-£12.10 / hour depending on experience
Main duties of the job
The role includes a requirement for:
Fast and accurate typing/ Word Processing skills
Constructing professional/accurate correspondence from GP notes
Acting as the central point of contact for clinicals staff and patients with referral queries
Liaising with multi-professional team members and external agencies to support referrals and follow up information
Familiarity with EMIS Web clinical software systems/ eReferral systems
Understanding of secondary care clinics and specialities

is a dispensing practice with a patient list size of over 8000 across our main
site in Ponteland and branch site in Wylam.Our clinical team
consists of 7 GPs, 3 nurses, 1 HCA, andan extensive administrative, reception and dispensing team working
toassist the clinical
team.
We are looking to
appoint a new part-time Medical Secretary with excellent communication and
organisational skills, with previous experience as a Medical Secretary, who can
complement our supportive admin team.

referrals are processed efficiently
c. Managing all
enquiries in an effective manner
d. Maintaining
an accurate referrals database
e. Actioning
all incoming email as appropriate
f. Processing relevant
letters as requeste
h. Inputting
data into the patients healthcare records as necessary
i. Processing
referrals using the electronic referral system (ERS), entering into the
appropriate clinic/specialit
k. Clinically
coding data on EMIS as required
l. Answering
incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request
appropriately
m. Managing all
administrative queries as necessary
n. Carrying out
system searches as requested
o. Maintaining
a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
p. Supporting
all clinical staff with general secretarial tasks as requested
