Job summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic Practice Nurse to join our established team to work 30 hours a week over four days. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care. Salary is negotiable and will be based on experience

Our Practice Nurses work as part of the general practice team and are supported by, and work with, a friendlydiverse multi-skilled professional team of both clinical and non-clinical staff.

This is a role suitable for a motivated Practice Nurse looking to develop their career with a view to expanding skills and knowledge to become a more autonomous practitioner.

Main duties of the job

TO ASSIST MEDICAL PERSONNEL IN THE CARE OF PRACTICE PATIENTS TO INCLUDE TREATMENT, PREVENTATIVE CARE, SCREENING AND PATIENT EDUCATION.

Job responsibilities

Key responsibilities

Provide routine nursing treatments to all patients in participation with general practitioners or independently to agreed protocols.

Administer medications in accordance with local PGDs, ensure to keep updated.

Extended roles to include complex dressings, ear irrigation and baby immunisations to agreed protocols.

Provide ECG screenings to practice patients (within agreed protocols) with reference to general practitioners as necessary

Chronic disease management (training can be offered)

Advise patients on general health care and minor ailments with referral to general practitioners as necessary.

Carry out routine NHS Health Checks.

Assist GPs with minor surgery and provide chaperoning and assistance as requested during patient examinations

Ensure the maintenance of equipment and stock levels relating to patient care.
