Job Overview
We are looking to recruit a senior
practice nurse or advanced nurse practitioner to lead and supervise a dynamic,
skilful nursing team.
This is predominantly a clinical role
managing long term conditions, alongside general nursing as required. The
management element will include organisation and supervision of the team,
training and mentoring as well as oversight of infection control and helping
prepare for CQC inspections.
Although this position is full time,
we can be flexible for the right candidate.

About us
We are a semi-rural practice with
11,000 patients. We are part of Knaresborough & Rural PCN, a network of 6
practices. We are a training practice taking both nurse and medical students as
well as GP Registrars. Our nursing team
consists of 1 senior nurse, 4 practice nurses and 3 health care assistants
operating from 2 sites (main site Boroughbridge, branch site Helperby).
With an increasing local population we
are seeking to expand and invest in our nursing team and would encourage
expressions of interest from candidates wishing to pursue a career in General Practice. We are a supportive and patient-centred
practice. We encourage personal development to learn new skills and take on new
roles. We have a strong record of staff retention with consistently positive
patient feedback and a good CQC rating.

Provide high quality nursing services to the practice population

Provide chronic disease management clinics as part of the
provision of general medical services particularly in diabetes management.
Promote safe working practices and ensure standards and
requirements are met in respect of Health and Safety, COSHH, Infection Control
and CQC compliance.
Contribute to QOF.
Be responsible for working closely with other colleagues and
delivering regular or ad hoc vaccination/immunisation campaigns
Undertake periodic performance reviews of nursing staff and agree
personal development plans in liaison with the Partner responsible for nursing
services.
Educate and train junior colleagues, students and staff from other
disciplines as necessary
Contribute to clinical and strategy meetings to help develop the
Practice services.
The post holder will be expected to undertake such other duties
appropriate to their grade and experience as may be required from time to time
by the Partners.
