Job summary
The Reception team is the pivot of the surgery. It is imperative that we have a strong Reception team to ensure the continued smooth running of the practice.
Main duties of the job
Working as part of the Reception team you will:
- meet and greet patients attending surgery at the front desk
- answer the telephone
- book in appointments using EMIS clinical system.
- deal with any clinical queries or directing these to the correct department.
- deal with queries relating to prescriptions, appointments, referrals, forms etc or passing to the correct team if required, ensuring that the enquiry is handled efficiently.
- maintain a professional and calm approach to anyone attending the surgery or calling in on the telephone.
- support any clinical staff as required
- ensure clinical rooms stocked at the end of the day.
About us
Our practice has grown from a single handed surgery started by Dr Charles Brookhouse in 1904 to a large practice with 14,000 patients. We serve north Bromley (most of postcode BR1) including Plaistow & Sundridge, Bromley Town Centre, Bickley, Shortlands and north Hayes.
We have 3 GP partners, 4 salaried GPs, 1 Advanced Nurse Practitioner, 2 Practice Nurses, 3 Health Care Assistants and from our PCN ARRS staff, we are fortunate to have a dedicated Clinical Pharmacist, Social Prescriber, Care Co-ordinator and GP Assistant. We also have weekly access to 2 physiotherapists and Mental Health Practitioners.

This is a part-time role of 20 hours a week (hours to be agreed) between 08.00 and 18.45 Monday to Friday. You will also be required to work some Saturday shifts and there is also a late clinic every Monday till 8pm and some Tuesday late clinics that will also need cover.
