Job summary

Holmes Chapel Health Centre is a friendly semi-rural GP Practice in Cheshire with a Practice Population of approx. 12,500 patients. We have a clinical team consisting of 6 GP Partners, 2 Salaried GP's, 3 Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Practice Nursing Team and associated clinical staff from our PCN. The Medical Secretarial role would be to support the clinicians undertaking secretarial and administrative duties.

Main duties of the job

To facilitate the smooth running of the referral process by undertaking secretarial and administrative support to the doctors and health professionals.

To provide assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.

As required, to receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.

Qualifications

Essential

  • GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths

Desirable

  • Typing Qualification or
  • IT literacy Qualification.

Experience

Essential

  • Must be able to clearly evidence secretarial skills.
  • Experience of a secretarial role and be able to show typing proficiency and flair for secretarial skills.

Desirable

  • Experience of working in Primary Care
  • Experience of working in a GP practice
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology
